I have been anticipating this trip since March, as a result I thought I was prepared, calm, cool, and collected. However, on the way to the airport, my stomach started to turn in knots, this feeling did not pass untill we got to Philedelphia. The lay-over in Philedelphia was long so I had time to calm ny nerves for the time-being, that is, untill we had to go back on the plane. I do not do well with long flights, especially flights that pass over the ocean. To keep me preoccupied I tried to study and listen to music, this helped a little. I was so happy when the flight landed in Madrid, no more worries! Little did I know there was more things to be nervious about lying ahead.
The bus ride from Madrid to Salamanca was incredible. I got a chance to see parts of Spain that I may have not been able to if I were to take a train. When I woke up and realized we were near Salamanca my stomach started to act up again. I was nervious about meeting my host family, what were thay like, are they nice, are they strict? When we got off the bus there were all these new faces staring at us, probably wondering what we were like as well. When the faculty from Cursos Internacionales called me up to meet my host family I thought I was going get sick because I was so nervious.
