I feel like I got so lucky for my host family. I live with a 31 year old chica named Sonia. She lives alone in a tiny apartment in the center, very close to the plaza. She is a hairstylist and she also teaches hairstyling at an acadamy here in Salamanca. She isn´t strict or anything and it feels like we are roomates more than her being my host. She is also a wonderful cook! We had paella on the first day and that was when I knew things would be great! ;) She helps me a very kind way when I make mistakes speaking (this happens quite frequently, pero bueno!) and she gives me tips and good bars and places to go here. She is wonderful.
I am finally learning my way around Salamanca. In the first couple days got lost almost everytime I went anywhere. Now, I know how to get to the plaza and I can always find my way from there. The first day when we took our placement tests I got lost on my way to the school even though I had my map right in my hands (I dont really like maps as marta and gabi know) I was so scared because I got there 15 or 20 minutes late and I didnt know where to go, I thought m,aybe they wouldnt let me take the test but then, thank god, gabi and marta came walking out of the building and they showed me where to go! From now on I leave for class 45 minutes before it starts even though I know how to get there now, just in case.
