Daytime and night time en Salamanca is really different. Whereas daytime is more likely to be peaceful, night time is another story. Wherever I see during my walk home for dinner I see families (mother, father, uncle, auntie, grandpa, grandma, grandkids, etc.) wearing nice clothes (if its US is like their church clothes) and they were walking and laughing and just having a good time. I find them at the park (El parque de alemadilla), at bars, at shopping centers, at restaurant, etc. Everywhere I look they seem happy and content with their life. It seems what I read in the books are correct, the Spaniards value family the most.

The other thing that puzzles me the most is the way the day-to-day business are run. They do not follow the famous saying of time is money as every day after two in the afternoon the town is like a ghost town. Every store is closed. It is good for me as I found the nearest computer lab from my house. It is the university’s lab and it is free. It is not full during siesta hours which I can do my journals and do all my other homework. For the classes so far I have two classes that suits me fine and two classes where I am thinking of changing into a harder one but I will see what happened tomorrow.
