lost on the outskirts of salamanca

It was such a fun walk to the mercadillo talking to this old couple. They were so nice to us and were telling us all about themselves. They live just outside of salamanca and they go for a nice long walk every morning and this weekend they had decided since it had been a while, to go to the market again. They told us all about there son and how he was riding his bike to barcelona. They also gave us the good tip to look around at all of the stands in the market before you buy something because many of them have the same products but some are cheaper. They were right, i ended up buying a pair of shoes that would have cost me 10 euro at one stand but i found them for 6 at another.
When we got to the market after an almost hour long walk(we were way off course) they kindly explained the shortest way for us to get back home again when we were done and then they left. It still amazes me how kind many of the people we have met here are. We looked through the market and it was pretty interesting. Everywhere you walk someone is shouting "VENGA VENGA! ZAPATOS POR LOS PIES!" or "MUJERES! AQUI VESTIDOS, CAMISAS!" it was exciting. i really regreted trying on a dress i saw in one stand because the lady looked like she was about to kill me when i didnt decide to buy it. After a while we were pretty hungry so we stopped at one of the little restaurants and split a nice lunch and some cold drinks. Jennifer and i decided to walk home and felt pretty silly when we realized that all along the market was only like 8 blocks from the park we usually do our homework at. wow, we were way off.
