The storm has passed.........Whew! The first week was a bit stressful with my host family to say the least. I cannot stress enough that the host families need to be aware of our schedules if City Colleges sends another group. Last week every time I tried to pacify my house family all I suceeded in doing was sticking my foot in my mouth no matter how much I tried to ameliorate the situation. Well since we have a set room to meet at and Im more familiar with the town they are getting used to my schedule. It was a lengthy process but I believe the hardest part has past. The first week all they did was yell at me but now we sit and talk and laugh. They are hilarious, they are like my "Honeymooners". The husband is hilarious and when the wife is in good spirits she´s actually funny too. Sigh of relief!!!!!
I was telling Marta and Gaby how proud I was to be in our group last night. When I walk home at night I see why Americans sometimes get a poor reputation abroad. Honestly i was not expecting things to go as smoothly as they have with our group. I think we carry ourselves really well. I also see everyone working really hard in their classes. We are all taking our work very seriously along with the tutoring sessions. As time has passed and Ive slowly gotten to know the other students, I can see why each and everyone was picked. We are all being sponges!!!!
Estoy bien finalmente!!!
