The flight to Spain was the longest flight i had ever been on, I usually fall asleep instantly on the 45 minute flight i take home to see my family even though i had had plenty of sleep, but on the flight to Spain which was 7.5 hours and i was running on 4 hours of sleep, i couldn´t fall asleep at all. I guess i was excited. Just as well, because the plane ride was really cool. We were flying just above the clouds and you could see the stars perfectly and the sky´s reflection turned the clouds blue so it felt more like we were on a big ship sailing across the ocean the whole time or until the sun rose which was just as cool.
The bus ride to Salamaca from Madrid was nice and quiet. It was neat to look at all of the signs on the side of the road and the new landscape. Finally i slept When we arrived to the school, all of our host families were there waiting for us. As we waited to be paired with our hostparents, it kind of felt like a juniorhighschool dance with host parents on one side and us on the other waiting to see who we have to dance with this month. Lucky for me, we make a nice couple.
Estuve cansado. Entonces, tuve mi primero siesta y comprende' mejor.

Later that evening i was eating dinner with my hostparents and a girl walked in. They had told me earlier that they had a daughter and I assumed that was her. She talked extremely good spanish and i didn´t think she really had spanish features but i have noticed a lot of blond haired spanish people here and both of my host parents hair is grey, so i had no idea what color hair they used to have. Anything is possible. Apparently, in my sleepy state she had told me that i had a roomate from indiana, so Soledad had no reason to introduce her again. so halfway through the dinner i realized oh she is not her daughter this is my roomate. Cool. At this point i am still having a hard time understanding what everyone is saying all of the time. (Comprehension Rate:25%) I am not going to lie.
A new language really is something that you have to PRACTICE all aspects of, reading, writing, listening and talking. Just because you know one doesn´t mean the rest will come automatically. When i arrived i felt like i had a pretty good grasp on writing and reading in spanish. I know there are a ton of rules i hadn´t learned but the ones i have i feel like i understand fairly well. One wouldn´t know that from talking to me though, not at all. My listening and talking skills are horrible. I thought that what i knew in my head would easily translate to spoken word but i forgot that my mouth was is the way.I am a shy person that doesn´t like to say things that i am not sure of and i am not sure of saying anything in spanish. Gotta get over that.
