My host mother and father are very funny. They are old and always arguing. I can not believe how fast they talk when they are arguing. Even when they are not arguing, they tend to speak very fast. I always pay attention to what they are saying, hoping to understand them. However, I do not like to tell them to keep repeating what they say when I do not understand them. Therefore, if they repeat something twice and I do not understand them, I will just shake my head, pretending that I understood them.

Anyhow, at least I speak better spanish than the people I am roommating with. Sometimes I feel weird about not understanding certain things my host family says. I wonder how my roommates feel. One of my roommates is from France. Everytime my host family tries to communicate with her, they have a very hard time. She speaks very little spanish and they speak no french whatsoever. Consequently, they have me as a translator. I do not speak french, but my french roommate speaks english very well. I sometimes feel happy about myself when I help them understand each other.
