Al sábado era lo mas feliz día de mi vida porque fuimos al Santiago Bernabéu. Es lo mejor estado del mundo y tambien es elmejor equipo del siglo es la verdad aunque soy fanático de Barca pero Real Madrid merece eso estadio porque ellos mostraron que el fútbol es un arte. Nic, Paloma ,Kelvin ,Alex y yo compramos los billetes para entrar el tour de Santiago Bernabéu cuestan 15 euros pero Anne Mary no entro con nosotros porque no interesada en el fútbol. Ella prefería a visitar los entiendas y después encontráramos en dos horas. Estaba muy contento para ver la historia de Real Madrid, los muy famosos jugadores, los trofeos…Sacamos mucho fotos con cualquier cosa pertenece a Real Madrid. cuando acabamos de el tour , fuimos a un restorante para comer y despues regresamos a nuestro hostal para tener la siesta .

Concerning the signs that I have seen in Spain, they are almost similar to the signs that we have in the states and they have the same function too but in smaller size, i guess. As far as graffiti is concerned it is all over Spain. I have seen in the walls from Madrid to Salamanca and I have seen it in all parts of Andalusia. I think graffiti in Spain is widespread and is a cultural identity of Spain (for the youth). And the graffiti is in most part organized therefore I think it s allowed by the government .it is really everywhere you go.
The church is the most decorated place in Spain, Especially the churches which go back to the roman time. It is fascinating how the churches in Spain look as if you are in a castle. They are so huge and the architecture is very pretty. I am wondering how much time did take them to build them and decorate them. And the same thing goes for the grave stones. They are nicely put .and it is said that some clergy and knights are buried in these stone grave inside the church. From my observation and what my culture told me, Spaniard don’t go to the church as they used to do. Most of them are non-practicing Christians. But in the services I have attended I have seen some women, men and children.
From my experience living with a caring family, I would say there is a lot of talking and conversation among the family .whether they are old or young it does not matter because they tend to communicate with each other and talk all day long. And i was part of that every in ma host-family tended to talk with me. I think that relationship between the young and the adult is very nice and close. I think that the youth are respectful to their parents but sometimes they are demanding. the typical behavior for a young person is normally not to care whereas the parents are more responsible and calm .I don’t think that these qualities are different from the U.S. it may be true the two cultures are different in some point but usually they have the same values.
Generally speaking, there is a distinction between the use of tu and you. But once you try to use the usted form, people tell you. The use of tu is much better or as one of my teachers put it: the use of usted is difficult and too formal so just use tu and you will be fine. I tried to use the usted form with ma host-family and my teachers but they told me use tu with us and save the usted form with others. To conclude, the usted is used in the formal conversations, with strangers, with old people. I don’t believe that we have in the State the same distinction but there is certainly a way of being formal like Sir or m’am. The only difference that it makes is to show formality or respect.
I think that in Spain people join themselves better that in the U.S. for example people here spend up to four hours in a café or in the plaza talking and chatting. Some of my friends told me that they have been into cafés a way more time. I think that is due to the atmosphere in Spain and also in Spain I think people are more socialize than the U.S. The Plaza is spectacular and there all kind of people there whether women ,men, families or group of students or as my friend Jennifer puts it : you don’t have to get a cell-phone or internet to say what is your plan , you have just to come to the plaza and you will meet somebody you know or you will know. I think all categories socialize in the plaza.
Most of the youth gather in la plaza, bars, cafes, clubs (there are a lot of clubs around the plaza). It seems that most teenagers have motorcycles so they spend their day riding their motorcycles around town. On the evening, some go to the movies and some go to the clubs to dance and some they hang out in the plaza smoking and drinking. From my experience, I would say that the youth in the State have more freedom than in Spain may be because the families in Spain are too close with each other or overprotective whereas in the state they are used to live on their own.
I don’t think that the mailing system is different than the U.S. because Nick and i have sent postcards and it was as easy as in the U.S. we have just paid the stamps and we sent them with no problems at all. The post office is as good as the U.S.
The Spaniards they talk with gestures a lot. For every action they might have a sign for it. For example, if you are hungry or thirsty there is a sign, if you are thin or fat there is a sign, if you have money or you need to pay there is a sign, if you want to kill yourself or somebody is being killed there is a sign, if there are a lot of people there is a sign.
The architecture of Spain is very interesting especially the old castles and churches. It is considered as the treasure of Spain. I heard from my teacher that Spain is nominating al-hambra in Granada to be one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. As for the Spanish culture it is very rich. They have a lot of festivals to celebrate each month in addition to the fact that each Spanish region has its own characteristics, history, food, folklore. Finally, Spaniards are intimate with each other and they have a close relationship with each other not like Americans whom they need to have a distance while talking or sitting on the bus or train.
Cultural Observation
1) Ropa
Mis expectaciones sobre el vestido español vienen verdad. Los españoles visten elegante. Descubrí que en España usted no tiene que ser rico para vestir con estilo pero si usted tiene una manera del sentido, usted puede vestir así que agradable. Usted tiene que elegir la combinación derecha y todo será bien. Pienso que los extranjeros no son con estilo como españoles .por ejemplo, la mayoría de mis compañeros de clase del Estado Unidos, ellos visten más ocasional. No pienso que el código del vestido indica la clase social pero la gente desea algo agradable especialmente en el fin de semana en que las mujeres usaron algunos vestidos bonitos .pienso que la gente en España visten más con estilo que los EE.UU. y eso es relacionado a la Cultura y el paso de la vida en España mientras que en Estado Unidos la vida es bastante rápida así que la gente tiende para ser ocasional.
2) Carteles, Anuncios y Graffiti
Referente a las Carteles, los anuncios, rótulos que he visto en España, son casi similares a las muestras que tenemos en los Estados Unidos y tienen la misma función también pero de tamaño pequeños, conjeturo. En cuanto a la pintada en España es todo excesivo. He visto en las paredes de Madrid a Salamanca y la he visto en todas l partes de Andalucía. Pienso que la pintada en España es extensa y que es una identidad cultural de España (para la juventud). Y la pintada está en mayor parte organizado por lo tanto que pienso que es permitido por el gobierno. El graffiti es realmente por todas partes usted va.
3) Cementerios e Iglesias
La iglesia es el lugar adornado de España especialmente las iglesias que van de nuevo al tiempo romano. Es fascinadora cómo las iglesias en España miran como si usted esté en un castillo. Son así que enormes y la arquitectura es muy bonita. Me estoy preguntando cuánto llevó el tiempo construirlos y adornarlos y la misma cosa va para el sepulcro. Eran agradable puesto .se dice que entierran a algún clero y caballeros en éstos sepulcro de la piedra dentro de la iglesia de mi observación y lo que me dijo mi profesora de cultura español, la gente no va a la iglesia como ellos utilizó hace. A la mayoría de ellos no-esta' practicando a cristianos. Pero en los servicios, he atendido, he visto algunas mujeres, hombres y niños.
4) familias
De mi experiencia porque yo vivo con una familia que cuida, diría que hay muchos de hablar y conversaciones entre la familia. Tanto si ellos son viejos o joven, no importa porque ellos tienden comunicarse con uno a otro y hablar todo el día. Era parte de eso que cada adentro anfitrio'n-familia tendió para hablar con mí cada vez. Pienso que la relación entre los jóvenes y los adultos es muy agradable y cercana. Pienso que la juventud es respetuosa a sus padres pero están exigiendo a veces. El comportamiento típico para una persona joven no debe normalmente cuidar mientras que los padres son más responsables y tranquilos. No creo que estas calidades sean diferentes de los Estados Unidos. Puede ser verdad que las dos culturas son diferentes en unos ciertos puntos pero tienen generalmente los mismos valores.
5) Lengua y Nivel de formalidad
Generalmente hablando, hay una distinción entre el uso del tu y usted. Pero una vez que usted intente utilizar usted forma, la gente le dice que el uso del tú esté mucho mejor o como uno de mis profesores lo puso: el uso de usted el difícil y formal. Intenté utilizar la forma de usted con la anfitrio'n-familia y con mis profesores pero ellos me dijeron que usa la forma de tu con ellos y usted con otras gente. Concluir, usted se utiliza en las conversaciones formales, con los extranjeros, con alguien que es mas viejo con usted. No creo que tenemos en el Estado Unidos la misma distinción pero hay ciertamente una manera de ser formal como sir o m’am. Único diferencia debe para demostrar formalidad o respecto.
6) Lugares de Reunión y comportamiento público
Pienso que en España la gente se ensambla mejor que en Estado Unidos. Aquí pasan hasta cuatro horas en un café o en la plaza hablar y l charlar. A algunos de mis amigos me dijeron que hayan sido en cafés más tiempo que es Estado Unidos. Tal vez que eso es relacionado a la atmósfera en España y también en España yo pienso que la gente es más socializa que en los EE.UU. La plaza es espectacular y allí toda la clase de gente allí si las mujeres, los hombres, las familias o el grupo de estudiantes o como mi amigo Jennifer la pone: usted no tiene que conseguir un célula-teléfono o un Internet para decir cuál es su plan, usted tiene apenas venir a la plaza y usted satisfará a alguien que usted sabe o usted sabrá. Pienso que todas las categorías socializan en la plaza.
7) los jóvenes
La mayoría juventud en plaza va a las barras, cafés, (hay muchas barras alrededor de la plaza). Se parece que la mayoría de los adolescentes tienen motocicletas así que pasan su día montando sus motocicletas alrededor de ciudad. En la tarde, algunos va a las películas y algunos van a los clubes a bailar y algunos cuelgan hacia fuera en fumar y bebiendo. De mi experiencia, diría que la juventud en Estados Unidos tiene más libertad que en España puede estar porque las familias en España son demasiado cercanas con cada uno o sobre protectoras mientras que en el Estado Unidos las utilizan para vivir en sus el propios.
8) Comunicación y Gestos
Los españoles hablan demasiado con gestos. Para cada acción hay un gesto por ejemplo de, si usted tiene hambre o sediento hay una muestra, si usted es fino o la grasa allí es una muestra, si usted tiene dinero o usted necesidad de pagar allí es una muestra, si usted desea matarse o están matando alguien allí es una muestra, si hay muchos de gente hay una muestra, si tiene calor o frió hay un gesto .si alguien es loco hay un gesto…
9) Arquitectura, cultura e intimidad
La arquitectura de España es muy interesante especialmente los viejos castillos e iglesias. Se considera como el tesoro de España. Recibí noticias de mi profesor que España está nominando el al-hambra en Granada para ser una de las nuevas siete maravillas del mundo. En cuanto a la cultura española es muy rica. Tienen muchos de los festivales para celebrar cada mes. además , del hecho de que cada región española tiene sus propias características, historia, alimento, .finalmente, los españoles son íntimos con uno a otro y tienen una relación cercana con uno a otro no como los americanos que necesitan para tener una distancia mientras que hablan o siéntanse en el autobús o el tren.
10) Correos
No pienso que el correos es diferente que los Estados Unidos porque Nick y yo hemos enviado las postales y era tan fácil como en los Estados Unidos acabamos de pagar las estampillas y les enviamos sin problemas en todo el correos somos tan buenos como los EE.UU.
