mio mio mio

We had to walk a ways since we were in nowhere land before we could get a cab back to the beach. but finally did and we had such a sweet driver he was so nice and i think he made us feel a lot better. he dropped us off at the beach and it was great. the beach was absolutely packed which is something i dont normally like when i go to the beach but this was ok. It was so full of life and and everybody just seemed so happy to be there and the sun was out and it was a beautiful day again. when we got in the water it was freezing but after a minute and going under the water it was perfect. I forgot how much i absolutely love the ocean. i feel like i really need to live by the ocean soon, maybe when im done with school. It is just such a high and it makes you feel like nothing can ever be wrong. at least for me it does.
we swam for a while and then dried off lying under the sun until we were too hungry to stay ther any longer. we gathered our things and we went off in search of a restaurant. We had found out from the handy dandy "let´s go!" book that gijón is known for its cidra! so we first stopped off at a little cidrería. The waiter brought over the bottle and just 2 cups. i guess the way they do it is they pour it from way up high so that it will get all bubly and nice but we were really confused at first. he poured like a half an inch into the two cups and we said gracias but he just sared at us because he was waiting for us to drink the 2 so he could pour 2 more. wow. we finally got and there was a lot of laughing, but not from the waiter. he seemed pretty annoyed and that is probably why he ignored us the rest of the time we were there so that we finally had to leave a check that was only a guess because he wouldnt come ove rto our table.
