The San Fermin festival was the largest festival I have ever attended. There were more than one million people in a city with an approximate population of 100,000. At first, I thought that the people attended this festival only to see the running of the bulls. However, after the running of the bulls was over, I realized that there was much more to do. The people in the festival were drinking, singing, and dancing. Trying to blend into the culture and physically experiene the festival, I also drank, sang, and danced. Attending the festival was the best experience I had so far.

Tyring to compare the San Fermin Festival to other festivals in Chicago, such as the Taste of Chicago, I realized that the festivals in Spain are not as regulated as the festivals in Chicago. First, unlike the Taste of Chicago, in San Fermin there were not too many police forces on the streets. Furthermore, people are in San Fermin are allowed to drink public. I like the way the festival are held in Spain because it really proves how the people are able to govern themselves without any strict laws to govern them. Of course, like any other place around the world, you will see some people who lose control of themselves. However, for the most part, I believe that the people in Spain are very responsible and tend to govern themselves much more than the people in United States. Spain, therefore, is much more a a free country than the Unites States is.
