Hay muchos extranjeros en Salamanca. Muchos restaurantes en sus cartas no tienen los nombres de la comida en inglés. Para mi ésta es una gran problema. Yo entiendo que nosotros estamos en Salamanca para aprender el español. Pero los camareros no tratan de explicar que significa una palabra en el menú. Cuando pido algo en un restaurante simpre se me sale algo que no me gusta. Yo creo que es una buena idea tener los nombres de la comida en las cartas en el inglés tambien.

My host family is a wonderful family. Throughout the past two weeks, they have been treating me great.Everything was going great in the house I live. However, today I had a little problem.My host family notified me last night that there will be no water in theirhouse for two days because the water pipelines will be underconstruction in the nieghborhood we live in. Therefore, today I had to wake up early to go to the university to brush my teeth and wash my face there. Furthermore, I will have to take a shower inthe gym. That is fine with me though. I undertsand that everything can not go the way I want it to.

Today, after the meeting at San Boal, I went with my host family to a huge cornfield located approximately 45 minutes away from Plaza Major. The cornfield is owned by them. However, because they are seniors, they have people to harvest the land land for themevery year. This is probably the first time I had the chance to see huge fields in Spain. I simply walked through various cornfields, appreciating the beauty of nature. As I was walking, a big dog approached me. Dogs and I do not really get along. Therefore, once I saw the dog I turned my back and started walkingtowards my host family's car. Once I turned my back to the dog, the dog started barking. I ran as fast as I could away from the dog. Fearing that the dog may bite me, I looked back and realized that the dog stopped following me. I felt so comfortable afterwards. That was an amazing experience.
